Privacy Policy for Korean Tutor

Last updated: August 24, 2026

The short version: the App works entirely on your device, keeps your learning data there, and does not require or use an account.

Information the App stores

When you create a profile in the App (a nickname and a chosen avatar emoji), that profile and everything tied to it — lesson progress, quiz scores, streaks, XP, and unlocked achievements — is stored only in a local database on your device. This information is never uploaded, synced to a server, or shared with the App's developer or any third party. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no password.

If your device supports multiple profiles (e.g. for different family members), each profile's data is kept separate, still only on-device.

Purchases

The App offers a single optional one-time purchase ($0.99) to unlock additional content. This purchase is processed entirely by Google Play's billing system (or Apple's, on iOS). The App never sees, collects, or stores your payment details — no card numbers, billing address, or other payment information passes through the App itself. The App only receives confirmation of whether the unlock was purchased, which is stored locally on your device the same way your other progress is.

Diagnostic and crash data

The App may use Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to automatically report crashes and errors, so problems can be found and fixed. If enabled, this can include: device model and OS version, app version, and the technical details of the crash (e.g. a stack trace). This is diagnostic information about the app's behavior, not your profile name, learning progress, or anything you've typed into the App. See Google's Firebase privacy documentation for how Google handles this data: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

What the App does not do

Text-to-speech

The App uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine to play pronunciation audio. This runs locally on your device and does not send learning content anywhere.

Children's use

The App is designed to be usable by learners of any age, including children, under a parent's or guardian's supervision. Because the App collects no personal information beyond a locally-stored nickname and avatar choice, and sends nothing to the developer, there is no account data to request or delete on the developer's end. If you have concerns about a specific jurisdiction's children's privacy requirements (such as COPPA), please consult your own legal counsel — this document is not legal advice.

Deleting your data

You can delete any profile (and all of its local data) directly in the App: on the profile picker screen, press and hold a profile and confirm deletion. Uninstalling the App removes all remaining local data from your device.

Changes to this policy

If how the App handles data changes, this page will be updated, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
